Sphodros rufipes (Red-legged Purseweb Spider)

This spider uses its long fangs to stab prey through their web and inject venom. This spider was pestered a substantial amount before mounting a defensive posture like this. Given their secretive nature, these spiders are unlikely to ever come into conflict with humans and their venom is not considered medically significant.
