Deep watering by hand happens every second day and gives Sue ample time to harvest things here and there as she goes along. The spoils from this particular morning were tons of silverbeet, three Black Beauty zucchini, two Tromboncino zucchini (picked young), one Spacemaster cucumber (we also have Japanese Climbing and Lebanese cucumbers this year), a tomato, and several heirloom radishes. The majority of this haul was made into yummy meals that day: Silverbeet and Feta pizza with wholemeal crust and cashews, Zucchini and potato fritters, cucumber salad. The radishes were taste-tested straight.
