Parliament House of Australia
This photo is available for purchase as a print!
Built between 1981 and 1988, Australia's Parliament House in Canberra was designed by the New York architecture firm of Mitchell/Giurgola, beating out 328 other entries in a design competition.
The building was constructed into the hill rather than on top of it, symbolically reminding us that government is not above the people.
The prominent 81-metre flagpole is made of stainless steel and weighs 250 tonnes.
I'm back in Edmonton from my travels in Australia, but there will be more photos to come, including a few more of this gorgeous building.
