High Fidelity

"What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?"

- Rob Gordon (John Cusack) in "High Fidelity"

I'm a fan of the high level of personal interpretation to this shot. It can exude any genre or musical taste...but I'm kinda hoping for Pink Floyd.

i believe that music can affect the innermost part of the body (some call it the mind, or the soul or even the spirit). It can affect your emotions too, i believe =)

Love everything about this – from the photo itself to the accompanying Hi Fi quote (love that movie) - it’s incredible really, how that quote has seeped into the consciousness of so many people I know.

I have been obsessed with the book and the movie for a while now, not to mention it has a pretty kick ass sound track. I did that monologue and a few select scenes in my theater class last year.

there's nothing like the old blue hue of the receivers of the past. i think they'd be smart to revitalize that.
