How Many Stars Does it Take to Get to the Center of the Milky Way?

Newer Older

For my wife's birthday we headed out to one of my favorite fairly close low-light pollution locations near Encampment, Wyoming off Sage Creek Road. With no moon to interfere and great viewing conditions I am thrilled with how crisp it came out, especially how well the Andromeda Galaxy rendered on left and the bright meteor showing up conveniently on right (and an additional dim one too, heh). It's just too bad the aspen were not anywhere near peak, but I happen to like green ones too. ;-)

I took a few shots of the milky way while in Yellowstone. It was my first time trying such a thing, and I don't have any special noise-reduction software, so I don't know how mine will turn out. I'll post one of them at some point and we'll see. I've always loved your night skies, moonlit images and milky ways!
