East Fork Valley_Q2E9198

Valley of the East Fork of the Tolklat River in Denali National Park.

The stream is what's called a braided stream and is common in the Alaska Range. The rivers are glacial fed and carry a great deal of silt which clogs the channel the river is running in so it switches channels. The gravel bar is kept clear of vegitation by the constantly moving river but is never full of water.
