NYC: Brooklyn Bridge - New York City Waterfalls

New York City Waterfalls, a public art installation by Olafur Eliasson presented by the Public Art Fund in collaboration with the City of New York, flowed along the East River from June 26-October 13, 2008. The exhibition consists of four man-made waterfalls: under the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn-side anchorage, the north shore of Governor's Island, Pier 46 in Lower Manhattan, and Pier 4 and 5 below the Brooklyn Heights promenade. At $15.5 million, it is the most expensive public arts project since Christo and Jeanne-Claude's installation of The Gates in Central Park. The Brooklyn Bridge waterfall measured 80-feet wide by 90-feet high.
