Back when Denver was still a lawless mining gateway, all the buildings had a problem of burning down. Eventually, a law was passed that new buildings had to be built with brick. In the 70's and 80's, the area now known as LoDo, was a hobo wasteland. Now that area is some of the priciest real estate in town.
