Athletes XXXI: Palestra Scene
Two athletes holding a javelin. The naked athlete holds with his right hand a strigil, the tool used primarily by men, mainly athletes, for the cleansing of the body after vigorous activities. His body is turned to right and his gaze turns downwards. To left a young wrapped in a large mantel looks straight at the young athlete. A wreath embellishes his hair: this character might be, probably, the winner of the javelin throwing competition.
