Greater Horn of Africa: Escalating violence creates new refugees 2012
11-13/06/2012 - Kakuma Refugee camp in north-western Kenya now hosts almost 100,000 people of thirteen nationalities with 200 new arrivals daily. The camp has become a touchstone for the state of the Central and Eastern African region- conflict and violence is escalating in many countries; the situation is deteriorating and the humanitarian needs remain high. ECHO, who for the last twenty years has been providing humanitarian assistance to refugees worldwide, talks to the refugees.
