Thank You All
I am taking a break from Flickr. I have accomplished what I set out to do in 2012: display my work, meet other photographers, shoot more, find beauty in nature. It has been more than I ever imagined. I feel like I have figured out the basics of bird photography, landscapes and sunsets. Today I can envision an image and capture it. I have 5.5 million views and over 100 photos in Explore. Nice work, as I often comment.
You all have been the real fun for me on Flickr. The friends I have met here have inspired me, shown me new ways to look at the world and taught me how to make more beautiful photographs. It has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, unlike most of the rest of the web. I have made some very good friends on Flickr and even gone shooting with a few of you in person. Thank you all for your friendship, support, feedback and inspiration.
But 2015 is a year of change for me in many ways. I want to re-fire my passion for photography, maybe take some new directions. I love my camera and the images I shoot. I will not stop. I just want to take time to expand my skills, my vision and most of all my imagination.
I am going to stop posting for a while, perhaps a long while. I am going to stop commenting (except sometimes since you all post amazing work that cannot be ignored) and stop answering comments. If you want to connect with me, please write via Flickr messages. Write especially if you are in (or visiting) the Bay Area and want to go shooting together.
This photo is at the top of Mt. Adams. That is me above the clouds. Thanks to my brother for shooting it as I saw it in my mind's eye.
Thank you all and I will see you around.
