Woodlark | by tsbl2000

This little beauty has caused some debate as to its identification! Tree pipit, meadow pipit and woodlark have all been suggested but the facial markings and dark wing panel now confirm as woodlark....unless you know different of course, because I don't.......

The picture was taken on Saturday when my brother came down from Essex for a walk in the forest with me. Apart from the rescued sheep (see earlier picture) we saw stonechat, dartford warbler, willow warbler, chiff chaff, redstart etc. a very pleasant day..The yellow background is caused by the vibrant gorse blooms.
