De Vis' Banded Snake (Denisonia devisi)

This specimen was found by a small waterhole surrounded by mud cracks on the edge of the Murray River in the Northern Sunset Country in Victoria. I was extremely excited to get this snake, the target for the trip. This one was out hunting morphling Spotted Marsh Frogs that also hid in the cracks and came out at night.
