10th birthday bash for young families scheme
Hadley Mews, a Nuneaton based service that offers temporary accommodation for young families facing homelessness, is celebrating a decade of supporting young build happy homes.
At a special celebration event, the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth Councillor Bob Copland were joined by current and former residents, support workers and local partners to see the facilities on offer, learn more about the work of Hadley Mews and even get stuck in with activities such as arts and crafts.
Social business Bromford set up the eight-flat scheme in 2004 after local councils acknowledged a huge need for a safe place young families could turn when they were left without a home, and the scheme remains the only provider of supported housing for young families in Nuneaton & Bedworth today.
Since it was set-up over 75 residents have passed through the doors, receiving support from a dedicated team of on-site support workers to enable them to become more independent and manage their own finances and tenancies.
