Standing in Canada, looking south into the United States. This sign marks the actual Canada- United States border- --this is the midpoint of nine span camelblack truss railroad bridge across the St. Marys River / St. Marys Rapids. The bridge was built in 1887 by the Dominion Bridge Company and is still in use today. Beyond the sign is United States Government property: The St. Marys Falls Canal, more commonly known as the Soo Locks. In the background, a laker is exiting the Soo Locks.
