Black-headed Saltator (Saltator atriceps)

Black-headed Saltator breeds from central Mexico to eastern Panama. Traditionally placed in the cardinal family (Cardinalidae), it actually is closer to the tanagers (Thraupidae).

 

It feeds on fruit, buds, nectar and slow-moving insects.
