The House Sparrow is native to most of Europe, the Mediterranean region, and much of Asia. It has become highly successful in most parts of the world where it has been introduced, and is the most widely distributed wild bird on the planet.
This bird has an extremely large range and population, and is assessed as Least Concern for conservation on the IUCN Red List. However, populations have been declining in many parts of the world.
