Gransweetie #1's first quilt
She got here this morning and told me that she needed to make a 6 patch quilt for school (4th grade) because they are studying Laura Ingalls Wilder. After a bit of questioning I found out that the squares needed to be about this big, show of fingers, that there needed to be six squares and that the squares of all the students weren't going to be all sewn together as I had originally thought. She picked fabrics and I helped with the cutting and showed her how to put them together. She did all the sewing on the machine. I found some cotton batting and we decided to finish the quilt. I'm not sure who is prouder, grandma or grandsweetie! She made the felt heart last time she was here all on her own.
About half way through the quilt, she mentioned that the other students would be making their quilts from paper. :)
