The Beehive: February

For Jo, who'd asked for blocks heavy on texture. This block, 12.5" square, used up almost half a yard of fabric -- heavy is definitely the word.

I made a bunch of chenille from Jo's fabric and then patched the block together. There was simply no hope of pressing it flat and square, as the chenille patches are all bias-y. I'm hoping once it's sewn into a top its neighbors will straighten it up some.

I love this much more than I expected to. The chenille in that color reminds me of corrugated cardboard.
