Sad and alone @ Ravensbrück Memorial
Ravensbrück Memorial at Museumplein Amsterdam. Dedicated in 1975 as a memorial to the women held prisoner in the Ravensbrück Nazi concentration camp during World War II.
The stainless-steel panels surround a column from which ominous sounds and startling flashes of light are emitted, which creates an eerie scene at night.
The monument is typically covered with wreaths and flowers on Remembrance Day (May 4), on which a memorial procession starts here and moves through the city to the Dutch National Monument on Dam square, Amsterdam.
