Sunset at Piha

Newer Older

Ok folks, I couldn't decide which one I like better so you are going to see them both.
Tell me which one you like better!
This one has a nice light hitting the foreground and the lion rock in the distance.
But the one below has a better colours in the sky and I particularly like the breaking water but the sun was blocked by low clouds just above the horizon.
Also notice what a difference a polarizer makes!

Hope I lost a kilo or some, it was a quite climb to this lookout. :D

5D + 17-40L(20mm, F11) + Lee 3stop GND + CPL, 15 sec exposure!

Both are amazing shots! Maybe the first one is slightly more moody and interesting.

You're so funny, Mr Pink. Hope those nose bleeds aren't too bad! You may want to pop over to Marky Mark's 'Wild Cloud' for a safe zone. Better hurry, he's due for a post & you never know how much pink there'll be about then. LOL
    You take care, bb. xoxo

I like both for sure, but I think you made the right decision on which to make the main shot. The decayed rusted metal in the foreground gives it a different dimension.

for me no comparison, the first is clearly better. Composition is better with this fence post in the foreground. The light is also better, especially de sunlight on that rock. Only the sea looks more dramatic in the second picture. Anyway, this is again a wonderful spot !
