Pictish Samhain Stout

A glass of Samhain Stout from the Pictish Brewing Company in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, on cask at The Market Porter in Borough Market, London.

Samhain Stout is a 5% abv stout. It poured a dark brown, almost black color, with a thick tan head. Nice aroma of roasted coffee and a mild malt sweetness. Medium to light in body with a creamy, smooth texture. Flavor started with a light caramel sweetness and lots of coffee. Hints of chocolate too. The finish had a long roasted aftertaste, good bitterness.

This is a very good stout, somewhere between a dry irish stout and a sweet stout.
