Baird Daidai Dark Wheat Ale
A bottle of Baird Daidai Dark Wheat Ale from Baird Brewing Company in Numazu, Japan, at Håndverkerstuene in Oslo.
This 5% abv dark wheat ale poured a clear, deep copper color with a white head. It had a nice fresh aroma, that typical citrus note from the wheat, with a roasted bitterness. Mouthfeel had a quite a strong fizzy carbonation. Flavor starts out sweet, with plenty of caramel malt, but the roasted note makes it fairly balanced. Underlying citrus freshness adds an extra dimension. Nice bitter finish from the roasted malt. A very nice and drinkable beer.
