Through the 50 1.2 - Sarah & Mike Engagement
The newly engaged couple! Had a really fun time with this shoot. Got to utilize the 1.2, and catch up on life. I met Sarah at a party of hers a couple years back that I got invited to by an coworker. I later learned that she worked at the grocery store I'm always shopping at. Being that I am there everyday, it gave us the chance to easily keep in touch. Then there's facebook, which brings us to where we are today.
While my 50 1.4 is being tuned and tweaked by the good folks at Canon, I am left with a hole to fill. I decided to fill that hole with a rental of Canons 50 1.2L.
I've read good and bad things. Regardless of the fact that it didn't live up to the hype that people were giving it, and the focusing issues that are easily dismissed once you know what you're working with. I find the 1.2 more than adequate. There were some shots straight out of camera that had my say, "wow," grinning like a kid in a candy shop. However (like anyones issue), can I afford that price tag? No. No I cannot.
Owning the 50 1.4 and having been shooting it for quite some time now, I see no need to upgrade. No need to empty my wallet and scrape up nickels and dimes to own it. It's a matter of 'want' and 'need,' and what I have works wonders already.
