Post Radiation Update

Radiation has been complete, and Zoey is in high spirits. The mass that was surrounding her eye has reduced drastically, and her face almost seems normal at times. The tumor left some destroyed bones in her face, but they are starting to repair themselves as time goes on.

We just had an exam to see how she is doing. There is a bump on her nose still, and a slight bump above her eye. We can't tell if these are abnormalities in her face left from the bone destruction, or if it is the cancer resurfacing. It's hard to tell, as it could take up to a year to see the full effect of the radiation treatment. There are some dry eye symptoms that are bugging her, and we are now giving her ointments and drops to help with that.

We go back for another exam in a month to see if anything has changed. From there, we may be doing another CT scan.

Fingers crossed that the abnormalities in her face are just from the destruction and reconstruction of bones, and not resurfacing cancer.
