Owl Barn Norfolk 8.2.2011 (4)

My husband and I decided to spend the day on the north Norfolk coast so got up very early and headed north a round trip of two hundred and fifty miles.

We had hoped to photograph fulmers but they were too far out to sea so we simply drove along the coast road hoping for some wildlife to photograph.

As we rounded a corner on those very narrow twisty roads my husband spotted this barn owl sitting in a tree a long way off.

I tried the converter on my 600mm lens but all the images taken were deleted - rubbish.

We stood there watching the bird when it took off and quartered the meadows and patience had it's reward providing these shots.
