The Tunnel Inner Channels
These were molded in a vacuum bag over a mold made from 2"X6"s. They are designed to help tie in the lower control arm mounts and to add stiffness throughout the tunnel. The interesting part about these lies in the glue-up method. We placed the entire tunnel in a vacuum bag with a bag inside the tunnel which was vented to the outside air. As we removed the air from the vacuum bag, the bag inside the tunnel equalized itself by inflating. The pressure from the inner bag was applied to the channels in a measure adequate for a glue-bond, while the outer bag supported the tunnel and kept the inner bag from breaking it apart.
