The Steering Wheel
The steering wheel is a burl walnut ring with a plywood stabilizer core and cherry back. The laminate spokes of the steering wheel are designed to distribute the torque from the steering wheel rim to the steering column. The steering column is an oak shaft that has been turned round with slots machined to accommodate the spokes. There is nothing but wood and glue from the far end of the steering column to the driver's hands.
