Barracuda Mark I

I built this mostly last night inspired by Peter's memorial to Nnenn and by sorting some red. I really wanted to try a single brick width central spine.

I picked out a suitable pilot in order to fit the cockpit. Today as I tweaked a few details, I heard about Heather's passing. So the fig is just right and this build becomes a double memorial. Life is too short; hold on to those you care about.

Incidentally, the name came about due to the aggressive 'mouth' and because 'Strawberry' just doesn't work as a name for a starfighter.

Build notes: The long slopes and fender flares really got this one going. I had originally put the wings on as placeholders, but they grew on me. Try to see them as a compromise between swept-forward and swept-back designs. As often happens when I build, divergent ideas crop up and can lead to alternate designs. So, yes, there is a Mark II in the works...

Sound notes: Actually it's video this time. An episode of The Dollhouse followed by a couple episodes of Top Gear. Key word: Rockin'
