I harvested some peppers from my 'Black Pearl' ornamental pepper plant today. The peppers start out dark purple (the same dark purple as the leaves and stems of the plant), then begin to turn red as they mature. I pulled the seeds out, and went ahead and sowed them in a flat. Hopefully in a few days I'll have baby pepper plants poking their little heads up.

As I approached the plant to cut off a few peppers, I surprised a tiny brown anole, sitting right on top of the peppers! I only managed one shot before he noticed me and took off. Shy little thing... unfortunately, the shot isn't very sharp, but it was too cute of a sight to not share at all.

Great shots...I really like the one of your hand holding the half open pepper and the title is perfect for it.

I have some of those peppers in my fall planters. I'll have to harvest the seeds! Love those Anoles-wish I had some here.

Oh wow. I come here to think of spring and gardening. The snow... the snow is everywhere. That second shot is priceless.

Yep, that's as big as they get! Aren't they cute? I'm kindof in love with pepper plants in general, and these in particular...

yes, do save the seeds! it's so easy, and so rewarding to grow your own peppers from your own seeds.

lol! my secret is... *looks around suspiciously* ... I wear gloves. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone!

i must admit, i like my version of snow: it falls one day, all the schools shut down, and then by the next day it's all melted. =)

thank you all for your kind comments!
