Post Sunset After Glow - Adirondacks, NY

    Newer Older

Taken about 40 minutes post sunset this 30 second exposure records some light the fast adapting human eye fails to see.

Probably the best campsite on Lows Lake, although not much of a sunset, it was a beautiful day turning crystal clear starry night.

    Pentax K10D, 50mm, 30sec f/16.

Thanks...One of those times when I can say it is actually better in the photo than real life. The eye generally records more information than film (like 20 stops vs. 5), the exception is in the dark when you can capture some things with light on film or a sensor that you can't with the eye.
