3500 Foot Zone

The Catskills have no official timberline, they simply aren't far enough north for even the 4000 foot peaks to be treeless, they tend to have quite a few view points at various ledges but no truly open summits.


During the months of Dec 22-March 21 you can camp at any elevation, but the other 9 months a year you must find a legal camping spot below 3500 feet.
