Big Dipper Over Carry Falls

About a 1 minute (1:15) exposure of the Big Dipper.

-------------------------------------------

Our path up the Jordan was largely thwarted by immense amounts of deadfall across the river. We'd paddle no more than 5 minutes before having to haul a fully loaded boat over downed trees. After about 1 mile of paddling it was clear we were not going to make it very far in the fading late afternoon light. So we turned around and headed back out to Carry Falls. Arriving back at the reservoir at 10pm we paddled along the reservoir in total darkness, with our headlamps turned off, only by the light of the stars on a crystal clear evening.

The Jordan River was beautiful but we will need much more time to paddle up it then we had available to us. Next time we will be better prepared with the foresight of the amount of dead-fall and pace of travel on a sparsely traveled river like the Jordan.
