Diglossa cyanea (Masked Flowerpiercer / Picaflor enmascarado)

The Masked Flowerpiercer is a common constituent of the Andean avifauna. It ranges from the coastal mountains of northern Venezuela south to northern Bolivia, principally at elevations above 2000 m, and it is generally found in humid montane forest and its borders, especially those close to the treeline.

 

Photo taken at Reserva Natural Río Blanco. Here travelers can walk by ecological trails. It has an area of ​​4,932 hectares of cloud forest and is between 2,150 meters and 3,700 meters above sea level.
