The western emerald (Chlorostilbon melanorhynchus) is found in Colombia and Ecuador.


The Western Emerald has a more straight flight pattern than do many hummers, and they forage individually at flowers in the lower and middle strata. Males sparkle with green throughout while females are green above and gray below.
