Taj Mahal

Truly a wonder of the world, this famous monument - the Taj Mahal - is always photogenic, constantly changing colors depending on the time of day and intensity of the sun. (India)

Babasteve, I have seen (and taken) lots of shots of the Taj and this is the nicest one I have seen in a long while. I hope the fabulous "painting" effect is not due to pollution... but I fear it may be.

      > thanks for your comments and appreciations, flickr friends... they are appreciated so much!
      > eileen, you would be pleased at how meticulous india is in protecting this national treasure... not pollution, but an early foggy morning!
      > i too was pleased at how increasing contrast and saturation turned this into a magical painting-like image!

      great shot!

how many of you knew that Taj Mahal is a turkish structure made by the turkish king "Shah Jihan" for his wife?

sadly enough, the marbels of this beautiful structure are getting more and more yellowish each day although they were designed to stay white forever.

The subtle painting tones give it a HDR effect without the usual over the top color saturation. I enjoy the entire photo, especially the soft reflection in the water. Well done.
