Update: I entered this image into Outdoor Photographer's American Landscape Photo Contest. I came in as one of the 35 finalists! Not bad at all, considering there are over 10,000 images submitted. Texas represent!

With the bluebonnets blooming all around Texas, we decided it was time to hit the road and go search for them. On the drive out, a huge storm hit us. The rain was so heavy that I could barely see the car in front of me. Turning back wasn't an option though, because we were almost at our destination, and could see flowers on the side of the road.

I'm glad we didn't turn back. The rain eventually stopped just in time to give us a beautiful sunset. We saw no one around, probably because of the storm. I picked my patch of flowers, then waited for the sun to dip into a break in the clouds. A 3 stop Hard Edge filter was used to balance out the light.
