Kathakali Dance (Kerala)
Kathakali is a combination of two Malayalam words "Katha" which means STORY and "Kali" which means PLAY. It is a story which is depicted in a dance form and is enacted using various mudras, mimics, classical music, drama etc. The stories are taken from Hindu MythologY.

These dances were performed in royal palaces and with falling of royal dynasty these art forms also came to an end...

Finally this art has been restored in Kerala(India) and involves a strenous training of 7-8 years..learning dances, music, makeup and playing musical instruments.
It requires lot of dedication and hard work to acquire these skills.
