Early Autumn rivermouth
I'd have to go back through my photos over the years to be sure, but it seems the Russian River's site of exit to the ocean may change seasonally. The sand closes it off in summer when lack of rain reduces the river's flow while ocean waves keep pushing in sand; then sometimes it re-opens to the north (right) of this spot (leaving the seawall almost buried in sand). But without floods (no significant rain yet), here it is open again in its most common spot. I don't understand how it happens, but it is beautiful.
