One World Trade Center & 9/11 Memorial
One World Trade Center and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum are the two principal anchors of the new World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan. Freedom Tower, as it is informally known, is considered to be New York City's symbolic skyline statement of resilience and perseverance following the tragic events of 9/11 which destroyed the entire former complex. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum, built over the footprints of the original Twin Towers, serves as a profound reminder of the emptiness left in the wake of that fateful day in 2001 and a commemorative sanctuary dedicated to all who lost their lives.
This model is dedicated to them; the office workers, the passersby, those in the line of duty and those aboard flights 11 & 175.
