... Turkish Bath ...

    Newer Older

In prep to visit Russia for the first time, I read Orlando Figes, Natasha's Dance.

A great line: ".. the problem with Russian history is there is just so much....."

In my broken Russian, to a broken English speaker, I got the drift that this was a Czar's gift to the Russian Muslims who fought in the Crimean War for the Russian Empire.

The sky was kind that day: it was an overcast when I visited!

Don't you just love an overcast sky? Perfect for highlighting that glowing gold roof and its reflection. It's amazing the way the building stands out from its surroundings, and it's a powerful shot. Perfectly cropped as well to include the top of the spire and its reflection in the water.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my stream... I know how little time there is to do that, and I appreciate it very much.
