The hardest part for any new guitarist who is also right-handed is to get your left hand to function in a way it has never functioned before. This includes strength, positioning, and resistance to the pain from fine metal wire penetrating the skin. It also doesn’t help that my skin is smooth and thin – thanks to many years of little-to-no physical labor on my part.
But, the short journey into guitarmanship (yes, I realize that is not a word) has been fun. It has also been more challenging than what I expected – although I now realize that I am learning as much about patience as I am playing the guitar.
