Glen Park BART
I think that the BART system is a perfect example of mid-century modern design with a 60's twist. The stations were designed in the 1960's with obvious mid-mod influences along with some brutalist touches.

I enjoy seeing the simple lines, warm woods and ample use of glass and steel in these stations. They evoke an image of stability, efficiency, and modernity that is not seen in today's "new" systems.

The stations that have been built in the 90's and 2000's are poor examples of over-the-top grandiose design. They are blown-up to obscene proportions to fulfill the need of their town or city to proclaim "Look at us! We have a BART station." That goes against everything that the original stations were designed to do. They are meant to be architecturally significant, yet blend and not overpower.
