Gordon Ramsay's Sesame Crusted Tuna
I didn't like the tuna steaks my fish supplier had pre-cut, I liked this "loin" much better.
It was the first time I bought one piece of tuna because normally the diameter is so big that with just the two of us it doesn't make sense. You'd just have a doublesize steak.
So now I had this loin and I thought it was screaming for a crust. :-)
I didn't want to overcomplicate it and I wanted to eat it with my favourite sushi (kappamaki) so I decided to go for Gordon Ramsay's recipe for Sesame-Crusted Tuna with Watercress Salad. The salad didn't turn out quite as it was supposed to, but the tuna with the dressing was very nice indeed!
Just dip in soysauce, brush with wasabi, then roll in a mixture of black and white sesameseeds with seasalt. The dressing was sesame-oil, soy sauce, lime-juice, garlic, ginger and honey.
