124/365 - Tick

    Newer Older

My wife called me at work and exclaimed that she found 2 ticks on our dog... big ones. With 2 kids running around, and her being a little freaked out by it, we decided to wait until I got home to deal with it.

We realized quickly that we'd both need to do it because the ticks were in the dog's ear and, very fur covered, neck. So we chose to wait until after the boys were sleeping... that was until they fell off on their own. This big dude was right in the middle of our dining room, wiggling on his back in pure blood bliss. So of course I had to take a picture of it. Make sure to view it large.

Niiiiiiiiiice! Like the subtle reflections on the frosted glass and the DoF. The turquise glass and tweezers set the context nicely making it look very clinical. Seeing one of these things so close up makes it look so alien/ icky, add in a couple of drops of (fake) blood and this would be full on horror show stuff. Nice job!
