Day 7 – Malta Bus to Naxxar, Mosta and Valletta

For my seventh day excursion I decided to take a Malta Bus trip from St. Julien's to the village of Naxxar (pronounced ner-shar) in the central north region of Malta and revisit the magnificent Palazzo Parisio stately home. I then took a Malta Bus to Mosta, photographing the famous 'Mosta Dome' Rotunda of St Marija Assunta Church before catching a Malta Bus into Valletta via the coast road route.

The magnificent Palazzo Parisio, with it's palatial rooms and beautiful landscaped gardens has been the stately home since the middle 19th Century of the Scicluna family of Sicilian and Maltese nobility, when Marquis Giuseppe Scicluna purchased the Palace and it's grounds and set about creating a sumptuous stately home for his family at the heart of the village of Naxxar.

My 2008 vacation to the beautiful Maltese Archipelago was my fifth trip to Malta, so I utilised the knowledge from my previous trips to plan a packed itinerary of daily excursions that took me all around Malta during my eleven day stay – visiting most of the main sights and attractions by using public transport or trekking on foot off the beaten track - plus an organised sightseeing excursion to visit Gozo!

If you are viewing this set because you are planning a holiday to Magnificent Malta I hope you find my photographs and information useful! :-)
