Solanum galapagense plant and fruit
The real deal wild tomato species endemic to the Galapagos Islands. This does seem to be susceptible to some fungal diseases, but may be resistant to others, we'll see. Cultivated outdoors in Northern California, zone 9b. Possibly one of the key species in developing new tomato varieties for the future, but I can see why not too many people work with this plant. the fruit are small, it takes forever for the fruit to mature, the growth habit is low and bushy, and the flowers are difficult to work with.
