Hey gumbo, gumbo italiano!
While it's possible to find okra at ethnic food shops in Italy, I've never seen filé powder so I just use a homemade creole seasoning (lots of recipes on the net).
Shrimp, lamb and italian salsiccia along with bell pepper and okra went into this. I used shrimp stock made from the shells and some leftover lamb broth that needed to be used up. The bread roll in the photo is in the style of the portuguese sweet bread that is so popular in Hawaii.
