Halibut in Creamy Wine Sauce

2 12 oz pkgs frozen halibut steaks -- thawed

 

2 tablespoons flour

 

1 tablespoon sugar

 

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

1/4 cup butter

 

1/3 cup dry white wine

 

2/3 cup milk -- or

 

half and half

 

lemon wedges

 

Pat halibut steaks dry; place in Crock-Pot. Combine flour, sugar and salt.

 

In saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour mixture. When well blended, add wine and milk and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Allow sauce to boil 1 minutes while stirring. Pour sauce over fish. Cover and cook on High 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

 

Transfer halibut to serving platter; garnish with lemon.

 

Serves 6.

 

I added pearl onions and peas to the crockpot as well.
