Rosyth Castle (2)

This is the entrance to the courtyard through the north curtain wall at Rosyth Castle. The 'porch' will have been built in order to lengthen the entrance tunnel or pend, so as to provide space for gates and probably a portcullis. It was defended by gunloops from the inside.
